On August 7, the 12th World Games kicked off in Chengdu, Sichuan, with the main cauldron blazing and fireworks forming the letter “W” — symbolizing both the World Games emblem and the word “World”, a warm welcome to global guests.
The grand opening performance featured traditional Chinese elements in four segments: Drums, Music, Poetry, and Flowers — showcasing the Golden Sun Bird, rap figurines, Twenty-Four Musicians, and the iconic Sichuan opera face-changing.
