Data Ripples | Data Unlocks Chinese Culture - the Mapping of China's World ICH
In December 2024, UNESCO inscribed "Spring festival, social practices of the Chinese people in celebration of traditional new year" as an Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). Since Kun Qu opera's 2008 UNESCO listing, China’s 44 ICH entries – spanning dragon boat festivals, solar terms systems, Qiang New Year revivals, and wooden arch bridges – have showcased living heritage transcending time and space.
