China’s Lunar Exploration Chief Outlines Next Steps After Moon Soil Sample Return

Wu Weiren, chief designer of China's lunar program, highlighted key achievements and future plans during a recent exhibition marking 20 years of lunar exploration. China uniquely acquired lunar soil from both near and far sides, facilitated by the Queqiao relay satellite. Upcoming missions include Chang’e-7 to investigate lunar south pole water resources and Chang’e-8, to test lunar surface construction techniques, paving the way for an international lunar research station.
