A recent survey by China Youth Daily shows that “checking in” at intangible cultural heritage (ICH) activities is becoming a new social trend among young people. Among 1,500 respondents born after the 1990s and 2000s, 81.1% believe visiting ICH exhibitions, performances, or workshops can serve as a new way to socialize. Watching themed shows or exhibitions (60.5%), buying ICH-related products (53.5%), and sharing experiences on social media (46%) are the most common ways young people engage with traditional culture.
