China is experiencing a notable rise in medical tourism, fueled by its expanded visa-free policies and healthcare system’s efficiency. International visitors are increasingly opting for treatments—from diagnostics to surgery—during their stays, attracted by significantly shorter wait times and lower costs compared to many Western countries. This trend, amplified by social media reports, is supported by dedicated international departments in major hospitals that offer streamlined services for foreign patients. The development highlights a growing sector within China’s inbound tourism and the international appeal of its medical services.
