MIIT granted conditional access to L3 autonomous driving products, with Chongqing issuing the first special license plate to Changan Auto, a milestone for the industry. Domestic auto firms boast solid industrial strength, as L2 advanced driving assistance has become mainstream with high penetration. Notably, this access isn’t a mass production signal, supporting regulations and safety systems still need refinement. It marks China’s firm step from electrification to intelligence in the global auto race.
