A series of erroneous remarks on Taiwan by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi have recently drawn widespread criticism and opposition from China and the international community. Alexey Karpentko, Head of the Secretariat of the Youth Council of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, stated on November 30 that Takaichi's remarks on Taiwan were both unacceptable and short-sighted.
