Start of Autumn marks a pivotal turning point in the year, when precipitation and humidity begin to decrease. From this time, the vital energy of nature recedes, and all things enter a phase of contraction and introversion. Along with Start of Spring, Start of Summer, and Start of Winter, it is one of the "Four Starts" and a key festival in the ancient "Four Seasons and Eight Solar Terms" calendar.
