On the summer solstice, the sun reaches its northernmost point, which results in the longest day and peak solar radiation for the Northern Hemisphere. Following this peak, the sun's rays begin their gradual shift southward, and daylight hours in the Northern Hemisphere start to decrease.
As the popular saying goes, "Once you've had the summer solstice noodles, each day loses a thread of light." Reflecting this sentiment, it's a common custom in many places to enjoy a special noodle dish on this very day in China.
